YTT-200
The 200-hour 6-Month Sunday Yoga Teacher Training.
This is a total of around 20 weeks and will meet from 11:30 am-5 pm at the Allenhurst studio.
Within our training we will cover throughly the 8 limbs of Yoga, the history, culture, philosophy and ethics of Yoga, techniques and training in asana (poses), breathwork and energetic/subtle bodies, meditation, anatomy & physiology (including a project to demonstrate your understanding), biomechanics, teaching methodology (including sequencing, cuing and class management), professional development to aid you in your pursuits in yoga “as a business,” lessons in Restorative, Senior/Chair, Yin, Prenatal, Adaptive, Kids and Kundalini yoga, Ayurveda and finally rounding it all out with a practicum to test your knowledge and skills (some of which is performed as we go through the training). You will also be observing community classes as well as assisting classes for a “lab” experience to gain insight from a teacher’s perspective.
The training is ultimately assessed in a written exam and finally with your graduation, “Karma Class” teaching alongside your fellow teacher trainees to the public in the benefit of a charity of your collective choice.
Due to the nature of the training, attendance is absolute and required to receive your certification at the close of our 200-hour training.
You are encouraged to attend all days. Absences may be discussed & arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis.
In addition to attendance of your training sessions, you will also be required to practice at least twice a week to continue and reinforce your yoga practices- SO as a bonus to being a part of our Yoga School and community, students will receive 6 months unlimited yoga to be used during their teacher training as part of their continued yoga practice requirements.
