All that is required of you is to close your eyes, take a deep breath and bask in the ambiance of the candlelit room- all in preparation for the deep relaxation you will experience as you are guided through the 40 minutes of this beautiful meditative technique.
Yoga Nidra (often translated as Yogic Sleep) is a beautiful guided meditative technique that allows us to quiet our conscious mind and slip into a restorative space for both mind, body and soul. The practice of Yoga Nidra greatly relieves stress and anxiety, improves overall health, offers an opportunity to explore your inner-self, allows you to release long-held emotions and achieve a state of inner peace. In allowing this space within ourselves we come to find a balance between our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, therefore balancing the left and right brain. Each time you practice Yoga Nidra Meditation, you’re stilling the mind through conscious entry into the sleep state.Yoga Nidra can be practiced at any age and is easily incorporated into daily life. 30-40 minutes of this practice is the equivalent of 3-4 hours of regular sleep. When we emerge from the practice you will feel calmer, deeply refreshed and well rested. This practice will aid in allowing for a more restful and peaceful night’s sleep.
